Ameer Abdullah kept busy versus Falcons

In a game that wasn't all that close until the very end, Ameer Abdullah was called on to run the ball 14 times for 47 yards, for an average of approximately 3.4 yards per carry. He also caught three passes for 39 yards.

Fantasy Impact:

He received a healthy work load, but Abdullah didn't do enough with the touches he was given to produce in any significant way. While the game did come down to the final play, the Lions trailed for a significant portion, which many feared would be an issue for the two-down back. The real problem ended up being his productivity: 3.4 YPC isn't going to cut it for a back in such a limited role. It was nice to see him continue to get work in the passing game, which right now is the only thing that keeps him borderline start-able in most leagues. The team is too hesitant to use him in enemy territory, which majorly limits his upside. Next week's game in Minnesota will feature a Vikings defense that's allowed the 6th-fewest rushing yards this season.
