Baltimore Ravens D/ST torched by Bears in OT loss

by Mark Leipold | Ravens Correspondent | Mon, Oct 16th 4:24pm EDT

The Baltimore Ravens D/ST was picked apart, though in an extended game due to OT, by the Chicago Bears in the Week 6 loss. The Ravens surrendered 342 yards and 21 points (6 came on an interception return TD by the Bears), but recorded 4 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries. Bobby Rainey added a kickoff return TD and Michael Campanaro added a punt return TD to cap off the performance for fantasy purposes.

Fantasy Impact:

Though the fantasy line is very good from the TDs, this was a less than inspiring performance by the Ravens, who should have been all over the inexperienced and depleted Bears offense. While the Ravens limited the Bears to 134 passing yards (21 by RB Tarik Cohen on a trick play), they surrendered 231 yards on the ground. The Ravens defense will continue to be a strong option if they rack up sacks and turnovers as they did in this contest, but don't count on the special teams unit to provide 2 TDs per game to save the day. The Ravens play at Minnesota in Week 7, which is a mediocre matchup, so they are a fine start, but not a top end unit for the week.
