Bills tight end Charles Clay is making progress in his recovery from from a torn meniscus and could come back this season, coach Sean McDermott said Friday, (Joe Buscaglia)

Fantasy Impact:

While the statement is positive on its face, the use of the word "could" in the context of coming back at all this year is a concerning shift in tone. If Clay is still on your roster, your best-case scenario may be getting him back for the fantasy playoffs, so keep that in mind when deciding whether you have the room to spare for him until then, through all the bye weeks. Hopefully, you already have a solid tight end. If not, Clay's backup on the wide-receiver-averse Bills, Nick O'Leary, is a deep sleeper as long as Clay is out.
