ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the New York Giants are benching Eli Manning for Week 13. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

In a class move, Manning declined the opportunity to maintain his streak of games started to do what's best for the team. Ending at 210 games, for the first time since 2004, someone other than Eli Manning will start a regular season game for the New York Giants. Following the Manning announcement, Geno Smith was named the Giants' starter for Sunday's matchup against the Raiders. The fantasy values of Evan Engram, Orleans Darkwa, and an injured Sterling Shepard are trending downward as a result of the QB change.

With one week left of the fantasy regular season and playoffs looming, this is a hard break for Engram, Darkwa, and Shepard owners. Geno Smith under center certainly downgrades everyone and we could even see rookie Davis Webb get snaps. Being against a porous Oakland Raiders lessens the sting a bit, but I would steer clear of all Giants if possible. Wayne Gallman out snapped Orleans Darkwa in Week 12, so the Giants clearly want looks at all their rookies. I can't confidently start any of them.
