Vic Beasley returning to full time defensive end in 2018

by Gary VanDyke | Sat, Jan 20th 10:23am EST

Falcons coach Dan Quinn announced recently that Beasley would be moving back to defensive end permanently in 2018. Beasly played at strongside linebacker as a passing down rusher for most of 2017. That situation affected his sack total after recording 15.5 in 2016 as a defensive end to only record 5 in 2017 as that strongside linebacker. (atlantafalcons.com)

Fantasy Impact:

This announcement doesn't just affect Beasley's fantasy football outlook on the positive side. 2017 rookies linebacker Duke Riley and defensive end Takkarist McKinley roles in 2018 could be expanded. And veterans linebacker De'Vondre Campbell and Defensive end Adrain Clayborn, who is entering 2018 as an unrestricted free agent, as well could also be affected. IDP owners will want to monitor the situation as Atlanta may shuffle around their starting lineup on defense for the up coming season.
