Jaguars part ways with Chris Ivory

by Mike Tagliere | Fri, Feb 23rd 12:29pm EST

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Jacksonville Jaguars have released running back Chris Ivory. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

The move saves the Jaguars more than $3 million in cap space. Ivory was considered a top-tier free agent running back just two years ago when he signed his five-year, $32 million dollar contract with the Jaguars. It was always going to end this way with a front-loaded contract, especially when you consider his inability to contribute on third down. The Jaguars will move forward with a lethal combination of Leonard Fournette and T.J. Yeldon. As for Ivory, his days in the NFL may be numbered now that teams are looking to get younger at the position, and the bevy of talent available in the NFL Draft and free agency.
