Blake Bortles on his way out of Jacksonville?

by Anthony Cervino | Sat, Feb 24th 9:08am EST

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio is reporting that in regards to the quarterback position, the Jacksonville Jaguars "currently are exploring their options, actively." (Pro Football Talk on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Many may not be surprised that the Jaguars are exploring other options at QB. And considering Blake Bortles' past, it's fully warranted. However, aside from his rookie year, Bortles has always been a productive fantasy QB. In fact, in his four-year career, he's finished as the QB24, QB4, QB9, and QB13 sequentially since 2014. As his fantasy numbers regressed, he's slowly become a better game-managing quarterback and in 2017, Bortles put it all together, leading the team to a 10-6 record along with a trip to the AFC Championship -- he did it without his top wideout, Allen Robinson to boot. On his future, the Jaguars are on the hook for Bortles' fifth-year team option number of $19 million, which becomes fully-guaranteed on the March 14 first day of the new league year. But Bortles underwent a wrist surgery shortly following their playoff elimination by the Patriots in late-January. As a result, if Bortles can't pass a physical before March 14, the team can't release him until his $19 million becomes fully guaranteed. If I had to guess, I'd say that Bortles will be the starting QB for the Jaguars in 2018.
