Danny Amendola to return to New England in 2018?

by Anthony Cervino | Sat, Feb 24th 6:56pm EST

New England Patriots beat writer Mike Reiss is reporting that the "feeling is positive" that impending free agent wide receiver Danny Amendola will remain with the New England Patriots in 2018. (Mike Reiss on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Amendola, 32, isn't going anywhere unless he retires. Per Reiss, Amendola "wants to be in the position to play in meaningful games in December and hopefully into January." Plus, he has a "close" relationship with Tom Brady and Julian Edelman. At this point in his career, why would Amendola want to play football anywhere else? If he's in the NFL in 2018, I fully believe he'll be a Patriot. Despite his age, Amendola is coming off of a 2017 season in which he's appeared in his most games (15) since 2014 (16) while producing his best statistical output (61-659-2) in two seasons. He was also New England's unsung here in the playoffs accumulating a 26-348-2 stat line in three postseason games.
