Case Keenum not expected to be tagged

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Minnesota Vikings are not expected to use the franchise tag on QB Case Keenum. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Although there is still time until the early-March deadline, it doesn't look like Keenum will see the franchise tag from the Vikings. As a result, he is on the fast track to reach the open market once the free agent signing period begins on March 14. With Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Bradford seemingly set to join Keenum on the open market, the Vikings are in need of a starting quarterback. In the wake of this Keenum announcement, it appears that the Vikings are the frontrunners to land the highly-sought-after Kirk Cousins.
