Tyler Eifert good to go for OTAs

by Anthony Cervino | Mon, Feb 26th 4:34pm EST

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting Cincinnati Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (back) is cleared for OTAs in the spring. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Eifert, 27, underwent micro-disc surgery in the midst of the 2017 season, which landed him on IR. However, fast-forward a few months and per Schefter's report, Eifert is on track to be a full-go for OTAs in the spring. Eifert, a five-year veteran in the NFL, has never completed a full 16-game season. In fact, the closest he's ever come was in his rookie 2013 campaign in which he appeared in 15 games. In the four seasons since, he's only appeared in one, 13, eight and two games in each year sequentially since 2014. A free agent this offseason, Eifert could be looking elsewhere for work -- the Bengals may only be willing to offer the oft-injured TE a short-term prove-it deal. And even if Eifert returns to Cincinnati for 2018, I fully believe the team will bring in someone to compete and/ or as an insurance policy for Eifert.
