Marcedes Lewis released by Jaguars

The AP's Mark Long is reporting the Jacksonville Jaguars have released TE Marcedes Lewis on Tuesday. (Mark Long on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

After 12 seasons with the team, the Jaguars cut Lewis, who is not happy with the developments leading up to his release. "I think I deserved a little better than I got," Lewis said Wednesday. "I wish they would have done it sooner." His release is indeed a head-scratcher, especially after the Jaguars picked up Lewis' 2018 option. However, after the team landed Austin Seferian-Jenkins and Niles Paul in free agency, the writing was on the wall for this to happen sooner or later. Lewis could be a good fit with the Ravens or Lions as both teams have a need at the tight end position.
