C.J. Anderson nearly traded to Dolphins

According to Denver's ABC affiliate, the Miami Dolphins vetoed a trade that would have sent RB C.J. Anderson to Miami in exchange for RT Ja'Wuan James. Anderson, who is scheduled to make $4.5 million in 2018 with no dead cap hit, has been rumored to be available and appears unlikely to be back with the Broncos next season. (ABC 7 in Denver )

Fantasy Impact:

John Elway has already spoken highly of incumbents Devontae Booker and De'Angelo Henderson and the article went on to speculate that the Broncos are likely to add competition via a strong running back class available in the upcoming 2018 NFL Draft. Anderson, who just posted his first 1,000-yard season, would quickly find work if he hits the open market. Neither Booker no Henderson has shown that they are capable of being a three-down back, so the Broncos are likely to form a frustrating committee backfield if Anderson is released. As for the Dolphins, they're likely to have their own two-headed backfield with 35-year-old veteran Frank Gore winding down his career and Kenyan Drake playing a change-of-pace and passing down role.
