Reuben Foster may be suspended, league weighing options

by Mike Tagliere | Thu, Jun 7th 9:49am EDT

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that despite the domestic violence charges being dropped against 49ers linebacker Reuben Foster, the league office is "mulling over a multi-game suspension." (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

This seems likely, as Foster has been in trouble with the league's front office since the Combine drug testing. There's been so many off-the-field incidents that have come up, the league usually sets an example with players like this. It'd be a massive blow to the 49ers defense, though it's hard to see him getting anything more than a four-game ban. Even though the charges were dropped in regards to the domestic violence, he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault rifle weapon charges and is now under two years of probation. The good news, however, is that he's still on the 49ers after what seemed like a departure was well underway. Foster can be one of the premier linebackers in the game if he can stay out of trouble off the field.
