Kareem Jackson moving to safety

by Jody Smith | Texans Correspondent | Mon, Jun 25th 7:01pm EDT

As part of Houston's retooled secondary, cornerback Kareem Jackson is going to shift to safety, allowing Kevin Johnson to move outside and newly-signed Aaron Colvin to remain a slot corner. Incumbent starting safety Andre Hal was recently diagnosed with Hodkin's Lymphoma, so Jackson will add veteran depth alongside rookie Justin Reid and Tyrann Mathieu. (Aaron Wilson)

Fantasy Impact:

Jackson's coverage ability has eroded badly. Pro Football Focus graded him as the 95th-ranked cornerback in football in 2017. Jackson is known as a hard-hitter and it's not unusual for corners to move to safety in the latter stages of their career. It's likely a positive move for all involved.
