Jason Verrett likely out for the season

According to NFL Network reporter Ian Rapoport, Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett suffered an injury during his conditioning test that will likely knock him out for the season. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

We don't have news on what injury he suffered, but it sounds like Verrett will be placed on injured reserve for the third straight season. After playing at a Pro Bowl level in 2015, Verrett has played a combined 313 snaps over the last two seasons, suffering multiple knee injuries. The Chargers secondary didn't miss a beat without him last year, but his return could've taken them to the next level. With essentially a third straight missed season, Verrett's career may be in jeopardy.
