Stefon Diggs gets contract extension

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero is reporting that the Vikings have agreed to terms on a five-year contract extension with wide receiver Stefon Diggs. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

We all knew the Vikings wanted to retain Diggs, so the extension comes as no shock, though we don't have the dollar amount just yet. Diggs has been on the verge of a breakout for some time now, as he's totaled 148 receptions, 1,752 yards, and 11 touchdowns over the last two years despite missing five full games and portions of others. His talent combined with Kirk Cousins' arm could vault him into WR1 status this year, though it would take a decline in teammate Adam Thielen's target share. Diggs should be drafted as a WR2 in fantasy drafts who has serious WR1 potential, ahead of his teammate.
