Fantasy Impact:

Dunbar is pushing veteran Orlando Scandrick for the starting job opposite Josh Norman that was vacated by the offseason departure of Bashaud Breeland. Dunbar has been making plays every day in camp, including pass break-ups and interceptions on throws by both Colt McCoy and starter Alex Smith. After signing as an undrafted free agent in 2015, the former Florida Gators wide receiver made the transition to cornerback during his rookie season. He played well enough over the next three seasons, as a special-teamer and reserve corner, to earn a three-year contract extension worth up to $10.5 million. In 2017, Dunbar played in 15 games (four starts) and recorded 35 tackles, eight pass break-ups, and one interception, all career highs. Even if Scandrick wins the outside cornerback role, look for Dunbar to come in on nickel packages where Scandrick will kick inside to the slot.
