Kenny Golladay plays ahead of Golden Tate in two-receiver sets

by Brad Richter | Mon, Aug 20th 1:16pm EDT

The Lions ran two-receiver sets seven times with the first-team offense during Friday's preseason game against the Giants and lined up Kenny Golladay, instead of Golden Tate, along with Marvin Jones each time they used that formation. (MLive)

Fantasy Impact:

The Lions only ran two-receiver formations 18.1 percent of the time last season but could feature the formation more in 2018 to dictate defensive looks they get. Coach Matt Patricia didn't indicate that Golladay has leaped Tate on the depth chart as he stated he just wanted to "get the play counts out there." Look for Tate to still play a big role in the offense but it is just another sign that Golladay's role and fantasy production could be on the rise in his second season.
