McCourty: "I let the team down."

by Mike Mahern | Mon, Dec 8th 11:50am EST

Jordan Raanan of NJ.com reports that Tennesee Titans cornerback Jason McCourty was disappointed by his performance in a week 14 drubbing at the hands of the New York Giants. Specifically, McCourty feels he was not effective in coverage against the Giants' rising star WR Odell Beckham Jr. "I didn't play well enough for us to help us win. I let the team down today," McCourty said. "When you get matched up on the best guy, you've got to go out there and put up a better performance than that." (Jordan Raanan)

Fantasy Impact:

Despite McCourty's feelings about having let his Titans teammates down, he turned in a fine performance for his fantasy owners in IDP leagues. McCourty tied teammate Michael Griffin with a game high 10 tackles (9 solo). He leads all CBs in tackles this season with 75 (68 solo), making him a must start in IDP leagues that have a DB position, and is one of the few CBs you could feel comfortable using in those leagues.
