Royce Freeman could miss some time with ankle injury

by Jody Smith | Rams Correspondent | Fri, Oct 19th 9:41am EDT

Third-round rookie running back Royce Freeman injured his ankle late in Denver's Week 7 dismantling of Arizona and "could miss some time" per Adam Schefter. Freeman rushed for 37 yards on 13 carries before exiting the game in the fourth quarter. (Adam Schefter via twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Freeman has rushed for four touchdowns so far but has been outplayed by fellow rookie Phillip Lindsay, who ran for 90 yards on 14 attempts. Denver's coaching staff has also been reluctant to get Freeman involved on passing downs, which has resulted in him playing behind Lindsay. If Freeman misses time with this ankle issue, Lindsay would enter RB1 range. With 10 days to prepare for a Week 8 showdown with Kansas City, Freeman would be no more than a touchdown-dependant flex play if he's cleared in time for the Chiefs.
