Sammy Watkins needs MRI on foot, Week 10 status in doubt

by Mike Tagliere | Wed, Nov 7th 8:19am EST

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins may miss Week 10 due to some foot soreness that required him to get an MRI this week. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

This is not good news for Watkins, who's continually dealt with foot issues in his career, though they seemed to be behind him over the last two seasons. Rapoport reports that the MRI did not show any major issues, but that the Chiefs are likely to play it safe with him considering their 8-1 record. Pass-catchers with foot injuries do not bode well, and we've already seen this story played out with Watkins during his inefficient 2016 season. As of now, you should have a replacement lined up for him. If he were to miss time, Chris Conley would step into a full-time role and would be considered an upside WR4.
