Dez Bryant signs one-year deal with Saints

Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Saints are signing free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant to a one-year deal. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

He's back. It had gotten to the point where we didn't know if he'd ever play again and though the Saints are a high-scoring offense, it's not a situation to invest in. Outside of Michael Thomas, the remaining wide receivers on the team have totaled just 65 targets through eight games, or 8.1 targets per game. This does, however, likely knock Tre'Quan Smith down the totem pole. By signing a veteran like Bryant, it's them essentially saying they're not happy with where Smith is, though he'll still have a role with the team. The odd man out here is Cameron Meredith, who has seen just 10 targets all season. If you've been stashing Bryant and waiting for this moment, you should use it as your opportunity to sell. Keep in mind that Drew Brees hasn't thrown the ball more than 36 times since Mark Ingram came back. Bryant is just a WR4 at best.
