Donte Jackson introduced to Antonio Brown the hard way Thursday Night

Carolina rookie cornerback Donte Jackson hadn't known what it felt like to be disappointed on the field this season until going one on one with Pittsburgh elite wide receiver Antonio Brown in the loss Week 10. After facing such wide receivers as Julio Jones and Odell Beckham earlier this season with some success, Jackson versus Brown didn't go as well as the rookie might have expected it would. Jackson was beaten in the worse possible way by Brown on national television on a 53-yard toss for a touchdown that simply made Jackson look like a true rookie. Jackson's response after the fact wasn't exactly a professional look as well as he seemingly felt that the bench along the sideline was the object of his disappointment. He was shown on the national stage beating the defenseless object as if doing so was a good way to display his frustration of being taken advantage of by Brown.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite the fact that the whole situation wasn't an appealing look for the rookie overall, Jackson did manage a handful of positive plays and ended his night with four solo tackles adding two of them for a loss. We will add to the fact here that there were no passes defended to his stat line. IDP owners shouldn't be too concerned with the rookie reaction by Jackson going forward. If anything it displays the will to win and likely just one of those moments he'll wish he could have back. What his IDP owners really should be concerned about is that even if he is performing at a high level for fantasy leagues right now he has slowly become the better cornerback on the Carolina defense sooner than we could have expected. If that trend continues in the second half of the season and opposing quarterbacks continue to prefer to target veteran James Bradberry over Jackson's skill set, we could see way fewer opportunities for Jackson to make plays as the fantasy football playoffs approach.
