Bengals safety Jessie Bates recorded nine tackles (seven solo) in Sunday’s 24-21 loss to the Ravens.
The story of the game was Ravens rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson, making his first ever start, running on the Bengals for 117 yards on a whopping 27 attempts. As for Bates, he now has 80 tackles and three interceptions in 10 games this season. He should at least be in the conversation for defensive rookie of the year. Cincinnati will see another rookie QB next week when Baker Mayfield and the Browns come to town.
