Eric Berry limited in season debut

by Alex Johnson | Fri, Dec 14th 12:48pm EST

Chiefs safety Eric Berry made his season debut in Thursday night’s 29-28 loss to the Chargers. He played the first half before sitting out the final two quarters, which Berry said was the plan coming in. “We just wanted to be smart about the whole situation,” Berry said, via Adam Teicher of ESPN.com. “We came in with a plan and we just stuck with it. We didn’t want to push it past that. That was between me and [head coach Andy Reid]. We just talked about it and felt I was good where I was at.” (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

It was Berry’s first game action since Week 1 of last season. He missed the first 13 games of this season due to a bone spur issue in his heel after missing nearly all of 2018 with a torn Achilles suffered in the season-opener. Berry led the team with six tackles in the first half. He will likely see more snaps in Week 16 against the Seahawks.
