NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero is reporting the Packers have informed defensive lineman Kenny Clark (elbow) that he will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season. This means that all three starting defensive lineman (Muhammad Wilkerson, Mike Daniels, Clark) from the beginning of the season will finish the year on IR. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter )
Clark will not require surgery on his injured elbow but with only two games remaining and the team out of playoff contention, it doesn’t make sense to keep him on the active roster. The 2016 first-rounder was in the midst of a breakout season with 55 tackles, six sacks, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and three passes defensed in 13 games. Undrafted free agent Tyler Lancaster, who started for Clark in Sunday’s loss to the Bears, is expected to stay in that role for the final two weeks.
