Lamar Jackson heats up too little too late in Wild Card loss

by Mark Leipold | Ravens Correspondent | Mon, Jan 7th 9:53am EST

Lamar Jackson completed 14-of-29 pass attempts for 194 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Ravens' Wild Card round loss to the Chargers. He rushed nine times for 54 yards as well, and fumbled three times, losing one.

Fantasy Impact:

Jackson had a very rough start to the game, though was under pressure frequently. Despite the crowd incessantly calling for Joe Flacco as the second half continued to spiral downward, Jackson remained in the game until the end. He led the Ravens on two touchdown drives late to close the gap to 6 points, but on the final drive, Jackson, who has ball security issues, was stripped to seal the loss. Jackson's future has a wide range of outcomes, but the coaching staff showed great confidence in him by letting him ride out the game. Jackson should be considered in the fringe QB1 range based on his rushing ability, but his passing game will need to take a step forward to make him a more reliable option for 2019.
