Rams running back Todd Gurley has arthritis in his troublesome left knee, according to a report from The Athletic's Jeff Howe on Twitter. This is the same knee that underwent an ACL repair in 2014. (Jeff Howe on Twitter)
Gurley's usage dwindled down the stretch and into the playoffs last season as he dealt with knee issues. And while the Rams have thus far expressed no concern and initially ruled out surgery, reports of arthritis could make the situation more complicated. We will likely have to wait until the offseason programs, minicamps, and training camp to get more of an idea about Gurley's status, but this report certainly raises questions about Gurley's future workload and longevity in the NFL.
