Jahlani Tavai goes to Lions at No. 43 overall

With the 43rd overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions selected Hawaii linebacker Jahlani Tavai. (NFL.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Tavai was ranked number 96 by NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah, but that could be in part to an arrest and a shoulder injury during his senior season at Hawaii. On the field, he has NFL size at 6'2", 250 pounds and has the upside of a three-down linebacker. While number 43 is a bit earlier than many of his pre-draft rankings, the Lions clearly liked him enough to take him now and not risk losing him.
