Ben Watson is coming out of retirement to sign a one-year contract with the New England Patriots. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Watson spent last season with the Saints and retired for a little while following their loss in the NFC Championship. However, with Rob Gronkowski retired, the Patriots needed help at tight end. Watson began his career in New England, where he was a first-round pack back in 2004. The 38-year-old hauled in 35 passes for 400 yards and two touchdowns a season ago.
