David Montgomery showing solid route-running skills

Bears coach Matt Nagy praised the route-running skills of rookie RB David Montgomery. “We always knew he had great hands. You don’t know how great of a route runner a college back is, but he’s a really good route runner. . . . This kid can’t wait. [Neither can] Mike Davis and these other backs. They want to put the pads on.” (Chicago Sun Times)

Fantasy Impact:

The Bears moved up in the third round to draft Montgomery, and there are signs that he could move into the role vacated by Jordan Howard. And then if Montgomery takes on more passing-game work as well he could really carry RB1 upside. This wouldn't be great news for Tarik Cohen, either. At Montomgery's current ranking of RB29 among our experts, he provides a lot of value potential entering the new season.
