Eli Manning reportedly to be the starter in New York barring injury

Despite some implication from Giants coach Pat Shurmur earlier in the offseason that there could potentially be a competition for the starting quarterback job in New Jersey, Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network reports that, barring any kind of injury, Eli Manning is still the starter and Daniel Jones will begin the season on the bench. Fantasy Impact:

This is what most assumed despite Shurmur's earlier comments, though it would not be surprising to see Jones get his shot sooner rather than later if Manning and the Giants start slowly coming out of the gate. Manning is likely going to be one of the last quarterbacks off the board in most fantasy formats because of the uncertainty surrounding his role for the entire season. If he and the Giants are playing well, he will likely continue to start. But he could have a short leash at the first signs of trouble, making him a risky fantasy gamble.
