Tony Pollard standing out in Zeke’s absence

Rookie RB Tony Pollard has reportedly been impressive in training camp, making the most of his opportunities with the first-team offense in Ezekiel Elliott’s absence. (Adam Maya of NFL.com)

Fantasy Impact:

The all-purpose back out of Memphis has repeatedly made plays in practice, drawing the praises of executive Vice President Stephen Jones, head coach Jason Garrett, and QB Dak Prescott. “He’s probably one that has stuck out for me,” said Jones, with Prescott calling him, “one of the most exciting players of this camp.” Pollard looks to be firmly entrenched in the backup RB spot behind Elliott, and he has some standalone value in deeper PPR leagues even if Elliott ends his holdout. If Zeke continues his holdout and misses games, Pollard could be thrust into a starting role and become a huge fantasy contributor right away. He’s the clear handcuff to own in Dallas’ backfield.
