Golden Tate loses his appeal of four-game suspension

New York Giants wide receiver Golden Tate's appeal of his four-game suspension for violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances was denied, the team announced on Tuesday. (New York Giants on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

This result was expected, even though Tate claims that he never failed a drug test and actually reported his taking of an illegal substance by accident to the league. The league has a zero-tolerance policy for performance-enhancing substances, and Tate will now miss the first four weeks of the regular season. He will be eligible to return before the team's Week 5 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
