Quarterback Josh McCown is unretiring and signing a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles, according to NFL insider Adam Schefter. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

McCown had signed on to be an ESPN analyst this season but had reportedly told the network that if the right opportunity came along, he would have to take it. With Nick Foles signing with the Jaguars in the offseason, the Eagles had turned to Nate Sudfeld to be their backup to Carson Wentz. But with Sudfeld out for a couple of months with a broken wrist, third-stringer Cody Kessler in the concussion protocol, and rookie Clayton Thorson struggling, the Eagles had a clear need at the backup QB position. McCown should step right in and be Wentz's backup in Philadelphia, putting him a snap away from being relevant in fantasy leagues at 40 years old.
