Following a Tuesday MRI, Drew Lock has been diagnosed with a sprained right thumb, Ian Rapoport reports. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Lock left Monday's game against the 49ers early after jamming his thumb, but the injury didn't appear serious. Further tests showed the sprain, but Lock fortunately doesn't need surgery. He'll still miss some valuable reps, leaving Kevin Hogan and Brett Rypien to get a boost in playing time in Weeks 3 and 4 of the preseason.
