Dwayne Haskins to start the season as a backup

The Washington Redskins announced on Sunday that Case Keenum would be the starting quarterback to start the regular season, meaning that rookie quarterback Dwayne Haskins will be the backup, at least for a few weeks. (ProFootballTalk.com)

Haskins is viewed as the quarterback of the future in Washington, but the team is going with the veteran Keenum to begin the season. It is still likely that Haskins takes over the starting job at some point in 2019, but it remains to be seen exactly when that will be.
