Ezekiel Elliott and Cowboys have 'no deadline' for new deal

Ezekiel Elliott's contract situation was commented on by Cowboys' owner, Jerry Jones, during an interview on a local radio station. Jones stated that there was nothing new in regards to Elliott's contract. Jones was quoted saying, "we have to be prepared to play without any given player. ...We may very well play without a player that’s not coming in on his contract. We’ll play and we’ll play well.” The Hall of Fame owner even went so far to say, "I’m very comfortable with off the field Zeke. Let me be real clear." Elliott's actions "are not a factor [in negotiations]," Jones concluded. (Jon Machota on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Elliott remains away from the team and this report provides evidence that both parties carry a lot of conviction about their submitted offers. If I am drafting, I would take Zeke in the first round because both sides seem very motivated towards getting a new deal. But without the running back reporting to Dallas, fantasy managers are left to speculate whether he will return for Week 1 or a later date.
