Veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has been named the Week 1 starter for the Miami Dolphins, according to a report from Adam Beasley on Twitter. (Adam Beasley on Twitter)

Fitzpatrick had been in a competition with second-year quarterback Josh Rosen in Miami, but new head coach Brian Flores decided to go with the veteran over Rosen. Fitzpatrick threw for 2,366 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in eight games for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season.
