Jerick McKinnon expected to be placed on IR

The 49ers are expected to place RB Jerick McKinnon on IR ahead of cut day, though it's not known whether it's season-ending IR or if the RB will be elgible to return. (NFL.com)
Fantasy Impact:
McKinnon signed a four-year, $30 million contract last offseason with the 49ers, but has yet to play a regular-season down for the team. The 27-year-old suffered a torn ACL last year and missed the entire season. This offseason, the RB suffered a setback on his injured knee. However, fantasy owners with shares of Tevin Coleman and Matt Breida have more clarity on the backfield ahead of the season.
