Trey Burton has 'mild groin strain'; possible game-time decision

by Garett Thomas | Mon, Sep 2nd 11:57am EDT

Trey Burton was not a participant during Sunday's practice for the Bears. On Monday, general manager, Ryan Pace, stated that Burton has a "mild groin strain" which is unrelated to the tight end's hernia surgery this offseason. Burton is considered day-to-day. (Brad Briggs on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Burton has already been flagged as a possible "game-time decision." With a groin injury, Burton may see his ability to run, cut and explode against defenders hindered. Any participation in practice for Burton would be a good sign of progress. If Burton has not a participated in practice by Wednesday, he will likely miss the 2019 opener against the Packers. Keep an eye on the situation and start identifying options on your league's waiver-wire just as a safeguard.
