As expected, Washington running back Adrian Peterson is a healthy scratch for the team's Week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. (John Keim on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The Redskins are opting to go with Derrius Guice, Chris Thompson, and Wendell Smallwood at running back. Since Peterson does not play special teams, he is a healthy scratch for Week 1. The veterans on the Redskins roster were reportedly not pleased with this move, so it will be interesting to see how the situation is handled moving forward. Peterson can be stashed on the bench in deeper leagues that allow for it, but it sounds like he is going to need an injury or a trade to be relevant in fantasy this season.
