Derrius Guice to miss time after receiving an MRI on his knee Monday

by Mike Maher | Mon, Sep 9th 12:41pm EDT

Washington running back Derrius Guice had an MRI on "his other, non-ACL knee" on Monday and is likely to miss some time, according to a report from NFL insider Ian Rapoport. The team is doing a full evaluation but hopes he will not need surgery. Rapoport adds that the knee currently receiving an MRI is the same knee that Guice injured in college. Fantasy Impact:

This is major news after Guice missed all of last season after tearing the ACL in his other knee. It is not yet clear exactly what the injury to his other knee is, but it sounds like the results of the MRI were concerning. Look for more updates on his status as the team continues to gather more information, but expect to be without Guice for at least Week 2 against the Cowboys. If Guice misses time, Adrian Peterson could return to the starting lineup in Washington.
