O.J. Howard 'can play a heck of a lot better' according to Arians

by Brendan Tuma | Fri, Sep 13th 7:35pm EDT

In regards to O.J. Howard not being targeted on Thursday versus the Panthers, Bucs coach Bruce Arians said the tight end can "play a heck of a lot better than he's playing". (Greg Auman on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Through two games Howard has just four receptions for 32 scoreless yards and a lost fumble. It's a disastrous start for fantasy owners who used a mid-round selection on the 24-year-old. It's true that Howard hasn't played great, and neither has Jameis Winston, but it's concerning that Arians simply hasn't used his third-year tight end. Arians has a history of not using his tight end but the thought was that was due to the lack of talent he has had at the position. Howard has a good matchup next week versus the Giants, so fantasy owners are encouraged to wait it out for one more week.
