Sam Darnold (thumb) expected to play through injury

New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold is dealing with a thumb injury, but is expected to play through it for the rest of the season. (Rich Cimini on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

While the Jets seem content to get in on the Chase Young sweepstakes, they will keep their young QB on the field to help aid in his development. The sprained thumb is thought to be a matter of pain tolerance, and Darnold himself has opined that he will be fine. The sprain is to his left thumb and should not be a major impediment to his throwing mechanics. Darnold remains more of a superflex option than someone to consider in single QB leagues.
