That Mahomes is practicing at all so quickly after suffering what appeared to be a gruesome injury is impressive, but the Chiefs are likely to be cautious with their franchise quarterback. He was reportedly taking second-team reps on Thursday, which might give some indication of head coach Andy Reid's plans for this week.
