James Conner not expected to play in Week 9

by Anthony Cervino | Cardinals Correspondent | Sun, Nov 3rd 4:53am EST

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting Steelers RB James Conner (shoulder) is not expected to play in Week 9. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Conner is listed as doubtful on the injury report with a shoulder injury, which means he will likely sit against the Colts. What's more, Schefter is stating that he is also in danger of missing next week's game as well. With Benny Snell also out, Jaylen Samuels will be the primary back for the Steelers. And while the matchup with the Colts isn't exactly a favorable one, Samuels is still a quality fantasy start with a high ceiling as he will likely see a full workload, which could mean north of 20 touches. Even is he is stifled running in between the tackles, his pass-catching upside raises his floor against a Colts defense surrendering the 24th most fantasy points to enemy backs at a 16.3 FPPG rate.
