Curtis Samuel expected to play Week 16

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting Panthers WR Curtis Samuel (knee) is expected to play Week 16. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

It looks like Samuel will give it a go in a terrific matchup facing a Colts secondary allowing the eighth-most FPPG (25.2) to opposing wide receivers. While the Indy secondary was a strong point for the Colts earlier in the season, they have been fruitful to pass-catchers in the second half, especially in the past two games. In that aforementioned time period since Week 14, the Colts have given up double-digit PPR points to five different receivers including Michael Thomas, who went ballistic last week. However, since the Panthers made a quarterback change this week -- they will start Will Grier over Kyle Allen -- Samuel's ceiling could be even more limited than it normally is. If Samuel, who has scored four times in his past seven games, does not find the end zone, he is usually a bust as he has yet to surpass 93 total yards in a game this season, a feat he accomplished way back in Week 2. Samuel is a touchdown-needy Flex option for the Week 16 fantasy championship. You should probably look elsewhere if you are looking for a safe floor play.
