The 2013 Super Bowl MVP agreed to terms with the Oakland Raiders. The strong connection that he had with new Raiders defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. made this an expected move. (Scott Bair @ CSNBayArea.com)
Fantasy Impact:
Smith should get some regular playing now, instead of being a depth player for the Seahawks. There is speculation that he may be moved to middle linebacker. The Mack-Moore-Smith linebacking core should be an exciting and explosive unit. If Smith does indeed become the starter at middle linebacker, he has the potential to be a cheap homerun option for those in IDP leagues.
