Patrick Mahomes is reportedly not pushing for an early contract extension just to appease the Chiefs, according to Sports Illustrated. (Sports Illustrated)

SI.com adds that the Chiefs do in fact have interest in getting an extension done early, which certainly makes sense given Mahomes' trajectory would indicate the he will only get more and more expensive the longer he plays football. While his future contract status is unknown at this time, it's certain that he's returning to KC in 2020 and that he'll be among the first quarterbacks selected in fantasy football drafts. He's currently the QB2 and No. 33 overall player in our early expert consensus rankings.
